Based in New York City, cellist Vivian Chang has established herself as a formidable musician. Her most recent accomplishments include participation in the intensive String Quartet Seminar led by the Takács String Quartet, a Fellowship with Music Academy of the West, principal cellist appointments with the Symphony Orchestra at the Manhattan School of Music and the Academy Fellow Orchestra at Music Academy, and winning the Lillian Fuchs Chamber Music Competition. As an orchestral musician, she has been awarded an AACA Fellowship at the Aspen Music Festival and has performed in venues including Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. A native of Portland, Oregon, she is now a Master’s Student at the Manhattan School of Music, studying with Julia Lichten. Outside of music, her interests include reading, yoga, and vegan cooking.
