I first started this organization after hosting concerts for three years that were held as fund-raisers for a scholarship at my son’s former elementary school, P.S. 203, here in Bayside, Queens, NY City. The concerts were held in memory of my son’s best friend who died at age eight of Leukemia, she was very special to all of us and the concerts were a celebration of her love of music and art and were a fitting tribute to someone who lives on in all of us.
I formed Gifted Young Artists in 2015 as, in hopes of continuing and broadening the scope pf these concerts, I needed to reach out to the business community in Queens and beyond to allow the scope of the concerts to grow. Friends and colleagues around the USA have already contacted me about doing concerts in their respective cities upon hearing of our formation.
I am looking forward to working with a number of incredibly talented young artists who are at the dawn of their careers, their energy and positive artistry will be an inspiration to a whole new generation of artists in schools and will uplift the spirit of those young people who are not able to get out to concerts.
